Food & Water Watch is a nongovernmental organization that advocates for healthy food and clean water for all. With the intention to stand up against corporations that care more about profit than other people, Food & Water Watch advocates for a democracy that protects the environment and improves quality of human lives across the world.
Operation Milagro (meaning “Miracle” in Spanish) is an ongoing campaign to save the critically endangered vaquita porpoise from extinction. SSCS is currently in its fourth year of operation in their native habitat in the Gulf of California, hence the use of “Milagro IV” to refer to its 2018 operations.
The SSCS is a US-based vigilante marine conservation organization known for its direct action tactics and aggressive work to fight against poaching and whaling. It was founded in 1977 as the Earthforce Environmental Society by Paul Watson after he was expelled from the Greenpeace board of directors due to conflicts over their pacifist approach.
