Occupy Central with Love and Peace was a civil disobedience campaign organized by Chu Yiu-ming, Dr. Benny Tai, and Chan Kin-man. The manifesto stated that it would campaign for universal suffrage through civil disobedience, civil referendum, and dialogue. OCLP advocates for universal suffrage, defended as the satisfaction of international standards such as equal weight for each vote, no unreasonable restrictions to stand for election, and by the means of genuine democratic process. It called for the occupation of Central district, Hong Kong's business district, if no reforms were made reflecting universal suffrage.
