University of California- Sustainable Dining

College campus play a big role in the purchasing of sustainable agriculture in the communities they reside in. Farm Forward worked with the UC school system to identify local alternatives to factory farms in the region.  The UC system made a new contract with better local alternatives which produces a big change in that community. Colleges have a big demand for food, so it positively supports these local factories. It also makes a statement to other campuses that sustainable agriculture should be prioritized.
